Choosing the right breast implants in Sacramento requires an understanding of your body frame. To help you learn more about how your body frame affects breast implant decisions, I've developed the following guidelines.

If you have a:

  • Large frame, you probably have a broad breast base. It's essential to select implants that fill that base in order to achieve the desired amount of cleavage. Typically, women with larger frames benefit most from moderate-profile implants. Your surgeon can help you determine which profile is best for you, because he or she has the expertise needed to take into account other factors, such as the width of your chest and the amount of breast tissue.
  • Petite frame, you may benefit most from saline "moderate plus" implants that are slightly overfilled. Your surgeon can customize the implant base by overfilling the implant, thereby increasing the projection and narrowing the base. This manipulation of the base results in beautifully shaped breasts positioned in a way that looks natural and suits your body. However, if you lack sufficient soft tissue, high profile silicone implants may be more beneficial. Talk with your surgeon to determine which is right for you.
  • Normal frame, you might want to consider a moderate profile. However, if your frame is somewhat narrow, you might benefit more from a high profile. This will allow you to choose larger implants without them appearing too wide. In contrast, if your frame is somewhat wider, you might prefer a low implant profile to allow for the correct projection. Discuss your preferences with your plastic surgeon so you can work together to achieve the beautifully shaped breasts you envision.
