Are Surgical Face Lifts Becoming Obsolete?

With the emergence of numerous non-surgical facial treatments, my patients often have questions about the effectiveness of these procedures compared to the effectiveness of a face lift on Long Island. Typically, I give these patients an explanation of the benefits and drawbacks of each option.

Medical Spa services such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, facial fillers and laser facial rejuvenation provide women and men with a way to easily and effectively diminish wrinkles with little or no downtime. This is an excellent option for people with busy schedules who desire a more youthful complexion but want to postpone surgery.

Although nonsurgical treatments offer a temporary solution for fine lines and wrinkles, they cannot treat all cosmetic concerns. Many Long Island plastic surgery practices offer a variety of surgical options for facial rejuvenation, and it's important to understand the specific set of benefits that each procedure can provide.

A face lift can give women and men a long-lasting solution to wrinkled and sagging skin that can't be matched by nonsurgical alternatives. Also, many patients find that, over time, the cost of keeping up with nonsurgical treatments can equal or even surpass that of a surgical procedure.

I recommend seeking the advice of an experienced surgeon to determine your best option for attaining a beautiful and more youthful face.
