As a gum specialist, one of the most dramatic transformations I offer is gummy smile correction. A gummy smile reveals a larger-than-normal amount of gum tissue when you smile. This condition may cause you to try to smile with your lips pressed together, or you may put your hand in front of your mouth to hide your appearance.

One highly effective procedure for treating gummy smile is to lower the upper lip so that less gum tissue is revealed when you smile. Although it may sound complex, it typically requires only a local anesthetic. I place incisions in the tissue connecting your lips to your gums inside the mouth to restrict the upper lip's vertical movement. That technique keeps your lips closer to your teeth when you smile & showing less gum tissue.

Because my method is less invasive than some other, more complex surgical options, it has an easier healing process with a faster recovery time and it is more affordable. My patients often tell me how much they appreciate the dramatic improvement in their appearance. For the first time in years, many of them feel as if they can laugh and smile with total confidence.
