Cosmetic Surgery for Men – What You Should Know

Reflecting what seems to be a nationwide trend, I'm seeing more men come in for cosmetic surgery at our New York and Connecticut offices. Some of the procedures most popular with men include:

  • Face lift
  • Forehead lift
  • Eyelid surgery
  • Nose surgery
  • Chin Augmentation
  • Liposuction

Procedures like these can help men restore or maintain a youthful look, balance facial features, or enhance efforts to look fit and healthy.

An experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon understands that plastic surgery for men is much different than for women. You may have seen male celebrities whose obvious facial surgeries have resulted in a feminine appearance. This is because either they or their surgeon failed to realize that what looks good on a woman does not necessarily work on a man. The same is true for body contouring procedures, which require different techniques to achieve a masculine-looking outcome.

If you're a man seeking cosmetic enhancement, it is very important to be sure that your surgeon has a great deal of experience with plastic surgery for men. Look at before and after photos of male patients, and discuss your expectations in detail. If you choose your surgeon wisely, you can enhance your appearance without obvious changes or feminine-looking results.
