Step-by-Step MakeoverPosted Wednesday, September 12, 2007 to PROCEDURES > Face Posted by The Original Anti-Aging & Cosmetic Surgery Magazine At 46 Esther was dissatisfied with the way she looked. She felt she had not aged well and her eyes were making her look tired. She went to Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Richard Fleming MD for surgery, then on to Vidal Sassoon specialists to complete her new look. SurgeryTo correct the tired look of Esther's eyes Dr Fleming performed a browlift with a hairline incision. Dr Fleming explained: "A hairline incision enabled us to lower her hairline and improve the facial proportions in addition to lifting the brow and getting rid of that heavy fullness of the upper eyelids that is secondary to brows falling with time." Esther also had laser resurfacing to rejuvenate the texture of her skin. To correct her deep naso-labial folds, (creases from the outer corners of the mouth to the nose) Esther had a fat augmentation procedure. "It's the underlying contour of the facial skin that is so important," Dr Fleming explained. "Because we lose fat with age, we use fat to restore youthful contours." After her treatments and procedures by Dr Fleming, Esther had a makeover at Vidal Sassoon. "We see many patients do this," says Dr Fleming. "Changing the hair, for example, is a way of camouflaging what has been done. We find this frequently with celebrity patients." Apart from drawing attention away from the recent surgery another reason to have a makeover after a cosmetic surgery procedure is to enhance the visual change and the feeling of confidence. Here we outline a makeover by Vidal Sassoon specialists. MakeupThe makeup artist, Lisa Botts, chose neutral tones to maintain the brightness in Esther's face. "I began by moisturizing her skin with Purity Day Cream SPF8 using a large latex sponge." Then applied in order were: sheer coverage foundation, Luminique's Trio Concealer to neutralize the blue discoloration around the eyes, yellow toned concealer to cancel any redness. A loose powder was pressed into the skin to finish the base. Botts used a white pencil under the eyes to highlight the brow bone, then a neutral tone over the base with a taupe color to create depth in the crease of the eye. A light frost was added for sparkle. Gray eyeliner and black mascara, a gel blush in raisin color and a mocha lip quint. HairThe hair stylist, Traci Sakosits, considered Esther's face shape, hair texture and lifestyle when choosing the style. Esther wanted to keep her long hair so a layer shape gave more consistent curls. Vidal Sassoon Frizz Control Cream was combed through and diffused without touching the hair until dry. The colorist, Gaynor Francis, chose blue/red tones to compliment Esther's skin tone and eye color. 0 Comments | Share | Save to Favorites Report Abuse| Rate It: Add Comment |
