Gummy bear breast implants, also known as cohesive gel implants, get their name because of they consist of a solidified gel similar to gummy bear candy. If you cut the gummy bear breast implant apart, it does not run out of the shell.
One of the reasons that gummy bear breast implants have become popular is because they are more natural to the touch. Unlike saline breast implants, filled with a volume of water, the cohesive gel breast implant does not have the sloshing sound typical of saline.
Because of their dense consistency, gummy bear breast implants also tend to be stronger and have a longer life once implanted.
While cohesive gel breast implants are made in any normal size, all the way up to a "DDD" cup, they do have one disadvantage compared to saline. The incision options are a bit more limited due to their size and density. For example, the transumbilical incision method is not available to women who choose gummy bear breast implants.
There are many considerations a woman needs to make when considering breast augmentation. Of the options available today, I truly like the cohesive gel breast implant as a valuable option.
