Mountain Plastic Surgery Society announced the election of Dr. Lane F. Smith, MD, of The Plastic Surgery Institute of Las Vegas, as the newly appointed President to The Rocky Mountain Plastic Surgery Society. The Rocky Mountain Plastic Surgery Society is an organization of practicing, board-certified plastic surgeons committed to the highestethical standards. Their mission is to advance the profession of plastic surgery through continuing educational activities, advise the public, and act as patient advocates, protecting the welfare of the people of eight states: Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho and
Colorado , with respect to cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. “I am honored to accept the position of President and look forward to serving The Rocky Mountain Plastic Surgery Society and the public it protects with respect and enthusiasm.” said Dr. Smith. “I will continue to introduce educational forums for patients and physicians alike as we strive to provide the highest quality care together.” added Smith.
Included at this event were several awards given to those doctors who submitted scientific papers and presentations. Dr. Lane Smith was awarded for “The Best Overall Paper” for his work on “Rhinoplasty On The Multiply Operated Nose.” The papers submitted where chosen from every major University in
California , and is the highest award for a scientific paper/presentation. Smith is known for his subtle techniques in rhinoplasty and was chosen from over 100 of his piers.Dr. Lane Smith is especially known for his success in corrective surgery on difficult noses that have been operated on previously by other surgeons and are in need further or corrective surgery.Dr. Smith enjoyed sharing his techniques in his paper. “I’m a perfectionist,” says Smith, “I want my patients to look beautiful, but most importantly, I want them to look natural.” Smith added. Dr. Smith canbe heard on his radio show on KLAV 1230am this coming Thursday, June 12th at 9pm where he will be discussing “Teens and Plastic Surgery” a controversial subject facing our society today.
